ARE YOU THRIVING OR SURVIVING?

Updated: 7 days ago

There are some hard questions we need to ask ourselves regularly. Not just now and then, but every day.

We have become accustomed to being so busy with our 'to-do list of things to accomplish, our jobs, businesses, goals, and expectations not only from ourselves but others, we skim over the hard stuff. We say to ourselves, "not now, later", "I don't have time", and "it's not important at the moment".

The thing is, that the perceived hard stuff, is the good stuff. THIS IS WHERE THE MAGIC BEGINS!

We tend to think if we stop and take the time to contemplate, that our struggles will get worse.

When we ask OURSELVES questions that might make us feel uncomfortable, sad or fearful, we believe on an unconscious level that we will become overwhelmed, exposed, overly distracted and ineffective to perform what needs to be done and maintained in our lives.

In response to those feelings and beliefs, we put off, push off, and move away from the very thing that can change our lives for the better. CONTEMPLATION!

One meaning for contemplation is "an act of considering with attention". And that's what we need to do more of.

When we ask ourselves questions like, "what will it cost for me to stay the same?" and "am I thriving or just surviving in my life?" we get serious about our life. We become more conscious by creating greater awareness of our life, in the present moment.

Once we start seeing our life with deeper awareness, we can own the present moment and become responsible for how we would like to respond. To be unaware is to be lost in the problem and see no solution for the future.

One of the early lessons in A Course in Miracles states, "I am not a victim of the world I see".

Once we get that awareness, which is crucial, and decide that some of our thoughts, beliefs, feelings and behaviours aren't working for us, and holding us back from the life we want, we can decide can be as simple as avoiding, procrastination, busyness, disconnection from others, confusion, and lack of decision-making, to name a few.

So, Maybe it's time to sit, be still and contemplate. Just for a moment. Close your eyes, take a deep breath, release your breath slowly, and ask yourself...

  • What is it costing me to stay the same?"

  • What is it costing me to keep on doing the same, thinking the same, feeling the same, behaving the same and hoping for a different outcome?

Are you thriving in your life or are you just getting by and surviving?

This isn't a monetary question, but a life experience question.

  • Are you feeling love and compassion for yourself and others?

  • Are you feeling passionate in your life with a sense of purpose?

  • Are you feeling connected to others with a deep drive to grow and expand?

  • Are you feeling connected to something bigger than yourself, Divine Love, God or Source?

These are great questions we can ask ourselves while we are sitting in contemplation.

There is an opportunity in every moment if we stop TO reflect.

We can ask ourselves, "Am I in fear or love, at this moment ?"

And if it's fear, we can reset and choose again!

This is shining the light on the warehouse of our minds!

Once we get that awareness, which is crucial, and decide that some of our thoughts, beliefs, feelings and behaviours aren't working for us, and holding us back from the life we want, we can then decide to do something about it!!

This is growth and this is where change begins...It's all up to you gorgeous woman!

Remember ....life is waiting for you to THRIVE!!

With Love xx
